Department Announcements Adding new staff accountsQuestion: Can I go ahead and add the rest of our staff as users for the website? There are still quite a few not included on our list, mostly secretaries, assistants, and new teachers (we've now added 3 to our staff!). What about custodians and cafeteria workers? I would think we'd add them so they can see the calendar and get information sent out via the website.
Answer:What you need to do is get their employee numbers. You may be able to call John Dendrinos or Beau Stanley and get a list. Now armed with the employee numbers you have to create the account with the employee number including leading zeros to make 9 digits as the username. It will say email but don't put in the email; put in the employee number. Now edit the membership to include them in clubs, groups or classes where they need to be. Now go to the General tab and copy and paste the employee number into the external ID slot, add their email and click save changes. Now verify the email. This should be all you need to do. Never setup anyone without an employee number as faculty and staff. (Except maybe in the case of interns. We have not decided about that yet!) Department Contacts
